Bingo nights to raise funds during the COVID-19 pandemic

Confined to the walls of our home, we all seem to be trying to find ways to entertain ourselves and keep ourselves occupied. After much deliberation on what we could do at Dhyeya to help keep everyone around us optimistic and to bring smiles to those less fortunate, we thought of organising a virtual game of bingo.   Our first round of fundraising was when we called together a small group of friends and family to play the game on the 31st of May, 2020. Two rounds of the game were organised by us and in order to take part, each person had to pay a sum of rupees 200; the money donated by everyone would be used to fund the various projects we undertake. Everyone seemed absolutely enthusiastic about coming together to have a good time and to donate towards a good cause. We had nearly fifteen people come together for our ‘Bingo night’ ,and we were extremely excited about it as it was going to be a new experience for everyone. Sponsoring School and Textbook Fees

In Punjab, Ludhiana, one of my (Jiya’s) cousins’ friends suddenly stopped coming to school. When she inquired as to why this was, she confessed that her mother couldn’t afford the school fees, so we paid her school fees (there is no public school in India) and sponsored her notebooks and textbooks
